Who we are

This policy explains what personal information Tack Electrical Solutions Ltd (“Tack Electrical”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. It covers this website, phone calls, messages and the electrical work we carry out for you.

  • Company: Tack Electrical Solutions Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 08271941

  • Registered office: 61 Marlescroft Way, Loughton, Essex IG10 3NA

  • ICO registration number: ZA010389

  • Questions about your data: email karl.brooks@local-spark.co.uk or call 020 8088 1816

We are the “data controller” for your information. That means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

What we collect

When you contact us through the website form, phone, WhatsApp, text, email, Facebook or Instagram:

  • your name, phone number and email address

  • the job address and postcode

  • what you need help with, and how you found us

  • any photos or documents you send us

  • the messages themselves

When we quote for or carry out work:

  • details about your property and its electrics

  • photos of the work before, during and after

  • test results and certificates (for example EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates and Minor Works Certificates), which include your name and the property address

  • access details you give us, such as key-safe codes or a tenant’s contact details

  • anything you tell us about the people living there that helps us work safely (for example someone who is elderly or has mobility needs). We only use this for that purpose.

When you pay us: invoices, payment amounts and payment status. Card payments are taken by our payment providers (Square, and sometimes Stripe or PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.

When you call us: your phone number, the time and length of the call and which of our numbers you rang. Calls may be recorded for training, quality and to keep an accurate record of what was agreed.

When you use this website: see “Cookies and website analytics” below.

If you are a landlord, letting agent or care provider and you give us details of tenants or residents, please let them know you have shared their details with us so we can arrange access.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason for each use. Ours are:

What we do

Our lawful reason

Reply to your enquiry, give you a quote, book and carry out the work, send your certificates and invoices

To take steps towards, and carry out, our contract with you

Notify notifiable work to building control through our NICEIC scheme, keep certificate records, keep tax and accounting records

Legal obligation

Send reminders when your EICR, installation re-test or smoke alarm check is due, follow up on quotes, and ask for a review after a job

Legitimate interests: keeping your property safe and running our business. You can tell us to stop at any time

Record calls and track which advert you called from

Legitimate interests: training, quality, accurate records and knowing which marketing works

Send our ElecTips newsletter, offers and other marketing

Your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link

Set non-essential cookies such as Google Analytics

Your consent

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop service messages you need, such as appointment confirmations, certificates or safety re-test reminders, unless you ask us to stop those too. Replying STOP to a text message stops all texts from us.

We do not sell your information. We share it only with people and companies who help us run the business, or where the law requires it.

These companies may only use your information to provide their service to us.

Others:

  • NICEIC and your local authority building control, when the work must be notified under Building Regulations

  • TrustMark, where work is lodged under their scheme

  • Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers

  • Subcontractors or suppliers who help with your job, only where needed

  • HMRC, the police or other authorities when the law requires it

If you leave us a review on Google, Checkatrade, Trustpilot or another site, that review is public and is controlled by that site.

Storing data outside the UK

Some of the companies above store data outside the UK, for example in the USA, the EU or Australia. When that happens we rely on the safeguards UK law allows, such as UK adequacy regulations (including the UK-US Data Bridge) or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
